Coin Collecting Club - FAQ
Q: Does it cost anything to join the Coin Collecting Club?
A: No, it does not. Funding for the coin collecting club has been provided by grants that we received from generous donors. Q: Do students really get to keep the coins that they get for their collections? A; Yes, and they get to keep the protective coin flips and storage boxes. It is my hope that our students will add to their collections and participate in the hobby for years to come. Q; Is there a limit to how many students can join the coin collecting club? A; Yes, because our coins and supplies are limited, we try to restrict the club to fifteen or so members. Q: What does the coin collecting club have to do with STEAM? A: Our students will be using many skills that have important connections to STEAM, such as organization, collaboration, communication, analysis, problem solving, researching, and perseverance. They will also use Google Sheets to create a simple database of the coins in their collections. Q: What else will students learn by participating in the club? A: Students will learn about numismatics, geography, history, and economics. |
